If heat is the mechanism, geography ought to show it. A vial that spends a July afternoon on a porch in Phoenix is having a different day from one in Portland.
This may not always show. Hot-summer states run 28.3% complaints and cool-summer states run 27.2%, a difference of about one point. Florida has the lowest rate of the 11 best-sampled states. Minnesota is tied for the highest.
One of the reasons is where the medication is made. Texas and Florida hold 52.2% of the compounding pharmacies in our directory, so members in hot states live close to their supply: a typical ride of roughly 600 miles, with 39.8% never leaving the state. Members in cool states wait on roughly 1,500 miles. A hot porch at the end of a short trip and a cool porch at the end of a long one produce about the same complaint rate, and the map flattens.
Public provider reviews carry no location, so this map is built from 706 first-party shipping mentions across 1,287 reviews with a verified state. At five or ten mentions, one review moves a state several points.
